Bouga

2020 - 2024

A dog who fought through parvo, survived his litter, and went on to be a shy and introverted Boy. His bright eyes sought adventure on his terms, running through fields and marking every tree as his own. He got into a lot of trouble, with bumps and scrapes, but he kept going against all odds. He loved putting things in his mouth. His toys, socks, tearing up cardboard. But also, it has taken years to have him break from his shell and understand people don’t want to hurt him. He was just learning how to cuddle, and allowing others to get near (but not touch!). He was learning how to open doors and making it a game.

There will never be a dog like bouga. His personality was unique. A sense of need to be with his family and doing whatever he could to make them happy. He gave us a reason to get up. He gave us a reason to make our walks just a little bit longer. He had us explore areas we wouldn’t Have thought to go. Bouga has reminded us of the love and compassion we feel. We will continue to remember him and everything he has done in our difficult lives. Thank you bouga. Thank you Bougainvillea. We love you.
